DHI methodology

Learn more about DHI (Direct Hair Implantation): how it works, when it may be suitable and how we integrate it into a clinical pathway focused on natural-looking results.

Clinical approach

DHI is an implantation methodology that requires careful planning and strict operating standards. We assess donor and recipient areas, define realistic goals and build a plan that accounts for hair loss progression and long-term sustainability.

Direct Hair Implantation

High-precision implantation variant: after extraction, follicles are inserted directly with an implanter pen (Choi), controlling depth, direction and angle at placement. Especially useful where detail matters (e.g. hairline) or in focal areas requiring maximum accuracy.

  1. 1Assessment and hairline design focused on micro-angulations and distribution.
  2. 2Follicle extraction (usually FUE-mode) and graft preparation.
  3. 3Implanter pen placement: direct insertion with control of depth/angle per unit.
  4. 4Final check of uniformity and density, with personalised aftercare instructions.

Who it may be suitable for

  • · Hairline reconstruction and frontal zone definition.
  • · Patients who need very accurate aesthetic detailing.
  • · Selected cases where the recipient area benefits from targeted implantation.

Limits and assessments

  • · Donor availability and quality (density, calibre and hair characteristics).
  • · Size of the treated area and realistic density goals.
  • · Progression of hair loss: a long-term plan may be needed.
